Memory Lane ~ International Scrapbook Garden

Hello, everyone!
Thanks for stopping by!

I'm here with you today to share another layout created with the March-April "A Rustic Spring" Garden Kit from The International Scrapbook Garden.

I took some photo editing privileges to alter this sweet bride's color scheme to suit my needs. Although I'm not usually a huge fan of pink, this sweet Fabscraps paper called out to me!

I kept my mixed media to a minimum this time around and stenciled with the Prima chalk edger in Blossom. When the layout was complete, I splattered with watered down white paint from my stash and with some of the Shimmerz Steely Blue Eyes Inklingz.

I was thrilled to make use of the gorgeous chipboard Art Doors Set 1 from Creative Embellishments which I simply gessoed and then layered in staggered amongst my embellishment layers.

Here you can see the large 49 and Market Garden vine which looks more pink to me but is called pale lavender. I've used some of the other 49 and Market florals from the Kit and add-ons, as well some of the white chipboard leaf flourishes.

The large pinky-peach flower and the lace appliqués are from Tresors de Luxe. This was originally planned as a combined design team project. However, Lucy is changing her format going forward.

My photo layers are from the BoBunny Cottontail papers.

More gorgeous 49 and Market flowers, Shimmer and Shine plus an awesome Junk Findings street sign.

Along with the Prima butterfly, I added another of the Fabscraps vellum stickers.

Just one more shot of the beautiful vine and some of the wee mixology florals.

Lots of gorgeous dimension on this one!
All in all, a rather simple page.

Here's a Main Kit photo for you but I do receive ALL the add-ons and they quickly become part of all my projects! Can't help myself!

I'll see you next time!
In the meantime, happy creating!

XO,
Sandi

Beautiful Memories, Lucy layout with Sandi ~ International Scrapbook Garden

Hello again, scrapping friends!
Sandi here with you today sharing this month's "Lucy" layout.

As you may have noticed, I've been shying away from the purples a bit this month.
Although I really do love a good purple layout, I get anxious over not getting to play with other colors! LOL
So, why not go big and grab myself some RED from the Bonus flowers and play with those colors, right?
And remarkably, it works!

I've been creating with the "A Rustic Spring" Garden Kit from The International Scrapbook Garden which has such a great mix of elements this time around! I went a bit crazy the day my Kits came in and got to see all the goodies that Tracie sent.

For this Lucy page (Lucille Ball publicity photo, circa 1950) I prepared the background with clear gesso and some crackle paste ... which true to form, I mostly covered up with my embellishments! When I was added the last few touches, I colorized around my focal point with the Shimmerz Coral Reef Inklingz. These Shimmerz Inklings are the bomb! Just the perfect touch to add depth to your page. Lastly, I splattered with the Coral Reef as well as the Steely Blue Eyes Inklingz.

My base papers were 13 Arts Vintage Moments Lavender Fields and In the Past. The excess from my paper tearing made for great photo layers. Don't you love the Prima vellum butterflies?

I had already designed how I wanted to layer the red 49 and Market Poppy flowers.

So, my next step was altering my Creative Embellishments Easter Frame chipboard.  First I gessoed the piece, then added my embossing glue and lastly added my chunky Stampendous Aged Gold Glitter. I like to stop the heat gun before the entire piece becomes shiny .. that way some of the chunkiness remains and gives the piece lots of texture. Because this isn't an Easter layout, I turned the chipboard on it side and used it more as a frame. It was finished off towards the end with some gold microspheres from 13 Arts (stash).

Close-up of the chippy.

Here you can see some of my background stamping and colorizing.

My little title pieces were cut from the manufacturer label of the 49 and Market Tattered Garden Beauty paper. Look how gorgeous that Coral Reef is and how it blends with the paper!

Just another little corner with more flowers and beads.

And an angled shot.

And lastly, the other side.

So, that's it from me this time.

Here's the Main Kit:

See you girls next time!

Bloom Where You Are Planted ~ International Scrapbook Garden

Hello, everyone!
Sandi Clarkson here with you today sharing my latest creation with the "A Rustic Spring" Garden Kit from The International Scrapbook Garden.

This time around my project is looking a bit more Easter-y in color. While I love everything Easter, I tend to shy away from the normal spring pastels or even the Mardi Grad colors that you see here in this layout. Jewel tones are hard for me sometimes.
The photo from last Easter is of my granddaughter MollyGrace, who has a rare disorder, with only a 100 or so cases reported in the medical literature. She has made great progress since coming here from China and we are blessed with her sweet, funny spirit.

For my base, I've chosen the 49 and Market Tattered Flourish paper and prepared it with clear gesso, then added crackle paste both applied with a palette knife as well as through the stencil from the kit. Then I added some random stamping with the KaiserCraft stamp.

For photo layers I used the BoBunny Cottontail Hippity Hop paper which has the cutest Spring-themed notecards., including cute bunnies that you can't see, hahah! To lift my photo, I've used cardboard from the mailing box then tucked in some of the 49 and Market Bluebell blooms.

While that crackle paste was drying, I got busy altering my chipboard pieces. The large title piece was prepped with gesso, then colorized with distress ink and finally altered with Blue Fern Studios Fern embossing powder. For sparkle, I added one of the Finnabair glitters in a matching shade of green. Love the little shaker bottles these come in .. finally an easy way to use glitter!

The white frame was primed with gesso, then embossed with Blue Fern's Snow Embossing powder and completed with more of the Finnabair glitter in purple. Of course as I added my final touches to the layout, I dabbled some on the frame for a nice blended feeling.

I was sure to include some of the resin pieces from Prima, the little bunny and the little chick. From there it was fun tucking in my florals and pearls. For further dimension, I added art stones from my stash and adorned them further with the Finnabair microbeads.

For final blending I again used the Finnabair Sunny Yellow Mica Powder, then splattered the Kaisercraft Blackberry mist as well as white stain from my stash.

To complete the project, I've used bits and pieces from almost all the Bonus Kits as well as the Main Kit. Everything mixes and matches so seamlessly .. scrapbook heaven! Here a photo of the Main Kit:

I hope you'll visit the online STORE at The International Scrapbook Garden and pick up a kit or two. I'm loving all of it for sure!

XO
Sandi

Junk Journal, part 3 ~ with VIDEO flip through of final project

Hello, everyone!

It's Sandi here with you today sharing the last part of my DT "Treasured" junk journal for Tresors de Luxe
Next time I'll be moving on to a new project! I promise! LOL

Here's just a quick side view of the 3 signatures all bundled together, minus the journal cover and back. I'm still swooning over that gorgeous Venice lace from Lucy's shop.

For those of you who are interested, here is a video of the entire album to view when you have a few minutes.

But for those of you who prefer photos, here is the last few pages of the journal:

In this photo, we are looking at the last little bit of signature #3 and using this gorgeous white bridal quality lace from Tresors de Luxe. I finished the embellishment with a Corine flower, a junk finding, washi tape and a printed chipboard from Blue Fern Studios. I found the lace HERE for you.

This is the back of the third signature and I've kept it blank so that it will lie flat. I may write some journaling there at a later date.

And here is some more of the gorgeous lace that I shared in my last Tresors de Luxe post to embellish the front of signature #3. You can find it HERE. My maiden name was Key, so I always use keys when I can. These printed chipboard pieces are older ones from Prima.

Here's just a little flap with a butterfly ephemera piece for tucking in memorabilia. The following page is for journaling.

And next a sweet flap with a typewrite chipboard and title.

And wow!
The beaded appliqué on this page is soooo gorgeous in person!
You can see it better in my video.

(Lucy's photo from the shop)
 You can find it HERE

Another sweet flap with printed chipboard.

And I thought it was apropos to include my birthday date.

And lastly (almost) is this 7 inch off white lace trim that really makes a statement! I embellished with chipboard, metal and a flower but really it doesn't need anything!

And the final pocket for tucking some memorabilia.

And the back of the last signature!

And whew! We are finally finished!
These longer projects are so satisfying but they do take many long hours!
But now I have a home for all Dad's letters!

Don't forget to check out my video above.
And please visit Lucy's shop at Tresors de Luxe.
